Cumulus

White Scribbled Underline

Cotton balls with puffy tops and flat bottoms indicate good weather, but can quickly turn into thunderstorms. Stratus clouds, low in the sky, hide above them, and fog are flat grey clouds with slight drizzle. Walking through fog is actually walking through a stratus cloud.

Stratocumulus

Stratocumulus is a combination of cumulus and stratus clouds, forming cumulus clouds as stratus clouds break apart. These low, puffy, grey or white clouds have patches of blue sky and resemble honeycombs, often found on cloudy, overcast days.
