In a nutshell, there are several important skills that kindergartners need to know. These include letter recognition, beginning sounds, number recognition, shapes, counting, reading readiness, fine and gross motor skills, and even social skills.
I know this can feel like a lot to take it in, but just remember that it’s one skill at a time. The best part is that each skill is like a piece of a building block, and when the year is over all the pieces should fit together!
