I love math myself! However, I am not in love with teaching math. As a homeschool mom, I know I have to teach it. But my children are learning a whole new way of thinking and sometimes I want to just pull my hair out while trying to understand it all. That is why I found an online program to help my children actually learn some math during our math block. I mean, a parent’s got to do what a parent’s got to do. After searching the online world for a while until I found the CTCMath program. I love this online math curriculum and my “students” do too!
CTCMath Online Program Review
There are a lot of online programs out there that promise a lot of things, however CTCMath is a homeschool mama’s dream program. It has so many amazing features and abilities, plus it is easy to navigate and you have complete control over your student’s tasks, lessons, tests and more!
My CTCMath Review
This online math program is a 10 out of 10 in my math book. It has everything I need, and it is all very accessible and easy to navigate. As you read, you’ll learn more about the parent dashboard and the full CTCMath curriculum, but it was perfect for my child, who was performing at an accelerated rate in math. As well as my child, who sometimes struggled with different math topics. I felt comfortable having my children working alone, and I could spend this time working and help individually instead of trying to teach all of them at once.
Overall, this program has found a spot in my house for as long as I homeschool. But, don’t stop reading here. Learn more about this online math program below.
Is CTCMath a Full Curriculum?
First things first, the CTCMath curriculum has lessons and materials for grades kindergarten through twelfth grade (algebra, calculus, etc). You will never have to find a different homeschool math curriculum ever again! Making it incredibly easy for a homeschool teacher and a mom or dad who doesn’t have the time to use or help with three different online math curriculums.
When listening to the lessons, they were easy to follow and well put together. They follow along with many state standards and the language is grade level appropriate. The tone and voice of the speaker or presenter are easy to understand.
The number of lessons under each topic range from as little as 2 to about 16 (some have more). The number of lessons don’t increase with age like you may think. Some 1st grade topics have 16 lessons. While other 9th grade topics have 5 lessons. It is topic based, which I love. I never feel like the topics lessons are becoming irrelevant or repeating.
So to finally answer the question, yes, it is a full curriculum and can easily be integrated into a homeschool setting.
Easy To Navigate Parent Dashboard
While giving myself a little tutorial, this dashboard has everything in one place and allows you to control your students’ next lessons, quizzes, tests, and more. You can also switch from parent view to a student view right from the dashboard as well.
While looking at the parent dashboard, you get so much information right away. You can see your child’s activity when they signed on, how long they worked on a task, how many lessons they have completed, and more! I always worried that online math programs would allow my children to just push through the steps and not really learn. But you have so much information on your student, there is no way this can happen with the CTCMath online program.
You can set up a “task” for your student, which can include a specific lesson, diagnostic test, and questions. There are so many options as well which make it more child friendly. You can “hide the lesson year” so your student will not know whether they are working with kindergarten or 2nd grade materials. This is great for students who may have anxiety or struggle with performing at their grade level.
Along with that option, you have another option to allow the student to complete the lesson using the worksheet, online or either. There are a lot more awesome options on the task page, but I don’t have the space to go into them all.
Student Online Experience
The student portal is easy to navigate and students can easily find the task they need to complete. Everything is right at their fingertips, much like the parent portal.
Students can easily navigate through the lesson and the task assignments and find the lessons, quiz and diagnostic questions. They also can view their results of each lesson, which is great for older students to track and see their progress. Students also have access to a Speed Skills section where they can also practice their fluency with different math facts.
The CTCMath program also gives awards as the student is progressing based on their scores for the lessons, tests, and other tasks. A great way to motivate learners! They have a Speed Skills section where students can also practice their fluency with different math facts.
How Much Does CTCMath Cost?
You may wonder what is the CTCMath homeschool discount? Or is there even a discount at all? This is the BEST PART. Since you are a homeschool parent, you get HALF OFF! Normally a family membership is over $200. But, homeschool families get CTCMath for just $148.90 for 12 full months! If you are still a little unsure, that is totally ok. They have a free trial period available. I always take advantage of anything free, so I explored the program and let my children try it out before I committed.
You probably can tell from my review and all the information I gave you. I love CTCMath and I am so happy I came across this outstanding online math program! If after reading this you are convinced this program is perfect for your homeschool family. You can purchase CTCMath right now, right here.
