The thing I love the most about this time of year is doing holiday crafts! I enjoy seeing the sparks of creativity from my son and his “brilliant” ideas. We even get hubby involved with the holiday crafts so it’s a great family tradition for us.
This year I wanted to try a few new things for our craft time together. We decided to go with some really fun kits from Oriental Trading. These products were provided to us for our full honest review. I was able to pick out the kits that I thought would best fit our family and our needs and I think the choices were PERFECT!

First up is the Santa’s Workshop cardboard house. I admit that I was a bit nervous getting this because I was afraid the size would be WAY to small for my almost 7 year old. GOOD NEWS! It was the perfect size and he has been playing inside this house for over 2 weeks. It has survived 2 weeks of rough play from a spunky 7 year old boy! That’s a winner in my book! We all had such a great time coloring the house. We did both crayon and tempera paint. Both worked very well!
Next up were the ornament kits. I love hanging handmade ornaments on the tree and they make great keepsakes as well. I keep a small shoebox packed up with our winter things just for handmade ornaments. I love seeing them through the years!
The great thing about the kits from Oriental Trading is that everything is sorted into their own little bags with their own little instruction sheets. It’s SO easy to follow along and most of the ornament kits were all stick and peal so NO GLUE was need for most of them! No glue = less mess = happy Mom! WIN!
We had snowmen ornaments, Santa & Reindeer ornaments, and even some paper chains! I loved that the paper chains were all pre-cut and ready to go!
I would say that this year’s family craft was a BIG hit! Not only that, but the kits are so cost effective and there are more than one kit per ornament type. We have enough kits left over to bring to our local homeschool Christmas party! I’m sure all the kids there will also love doing these crafts. AGAIN, no glue required so quick and easy clean up PLUS each child will have their own set of instructions to follow. EASY!
I think these crafts from Oriental Trading will be our NEW holiday tradition. You just can’t beat the quality, the price and how easy it is to have it all ready to go for you!
