As a homeschooling parent, you are probably always looking for fun and engaging christmas homeschool activities. Especially when your children are excited and maybe even a little wild around the holiday season.
There are so many fun homeschool activities that will keep your kids learning while enjoying all the exciting parts of Christmas.
There are so many ways to incorporate Christmas into your homeschool day and I have tried many learning activities and ways to help you keep teaching and have your students keep learning, even during the holiday season.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt & Other Activities
What better way to celebrate Christmas than driving in your car and looking for Christmas themed items. It is also great family time. There are different scavenger hunts ideas based on children’s ages and they will enjoy every one of them.
Some clues and ideas I have used are…
- Find something red
- Find something that starts with the letter S
- Create a silly sentence using different words you find.
Grab some hot chocolate, bake some Christmas cookies, and put on some holiday music. It is the perfect evening homeschool activity and field trip.
Another fun Christmas activity you can easily turn into a learning opportunity is writing Christmas cards or their Christmas list to Santa. It is a great way to practice grammar and spelling skills. As well as, writing structure like the letter structure.
It gives students a fun way to practice and lets those pesky santa letters will be done and you don’t have to do the cards anymore! You can even help them practice addressing an envelope. BONUS: They will learn their own address if you have them do the return part of the envelope as well!
Holiday Printables
A really easy way to bring Christmas into your homeschooling activities is to use holiday themed worksheets. There are a lot of different Christmas printables and a lot of them are free printables. You’ll find a lot of different coloring pages and craft packs.
But there are also a lot of great educational Christmas printables like Christmas color by numbers. Using worksheets can help you bring in skills your children need to learn while still having a lot of Christmas fun!
