Boredom Busters
During the summertime many homeschoolers take the time off for their kids to relax and have fun. Whether that be one week or more, kids get bored quickly. It can be hard to come up with ideas to keep your kids happy and entertained.

Here are few boredom buster ideas I’ve found that might help you and your kiddo’s get through those long drawn out “Mooooooom, I’m bored” times.
IDEA: Find the ideas from the list below that you think will work well with your kids. Write these ideas down on popsicle sticks and place in a cup or jar. When your child is bored draw a random popsicle stick and do what it says.
You can even color code the Popsicle for “Indoor ideas” and “Outdoor ideas”. This will help you choose an appropriate activity. You don’t want to pick “Fly a kite” when it’s raining outside. That’s no fun.
Indoor Ideas
- Paint a fun picture of each other
- Play dress up
- Sing songs together
- Craft with family
- Cook favorite snack together
- See who can build the tallest block tower
- Do a jigsaw puzzle together
- Build a fort
- Read a new book
- Make sock puppets
Outdoor Ideas
- Fly a kite
- Play in the sprinklers or on the slip and slide
- Go on a bike ride together
- Do a scavenger hunt
- Blow bubbles
- Jump rope
- Go on a nature walk
- Plant a tree
- Camp out in the back yard
- Search for insects
